FiveM is a GTA V mod for hosting RP (roleplay) servers with custom scripts. CPU load is high because each Lua resource runs on the main thread - favour a 5 GHz+ Intel or Ryzen 7000+ CPU. RAM: 8 GB for 32 players, 16 GB beyond. The ecosystem is rich (ESX, QBCore, txAdmin) but requires expertise to set up. Mind the Cfx.re licence (server key) and additional slot fees.
Multiplayer games are mostly single-thread - favour a high CPU clock (4 GHz+) over a high core count. RAM depends on the game: 2-4 GB for 10 Minecraft players, 8-16 GB for 50 Rust players.
A game host bundles panels (Pterodactyl, TCAdmin), mod management, calibrated anti-DDoS and backups - hours of setup saved. A VPS costs less but expects sysadmin skills.
