Unturned is very light (1-2 GB RAM for 24 players) - perfect as a first multiplayer server. Modding via Steam Workshop and RocketMod (plugins). The game is still F2P so the community is young and large. Basic anti-DDoS is enough. Specialised hosts offer one-click RocketMod plugin installation and permission management.
Multiplayer games are mostly single-thread - favour a high CPU clock (4 GHz+) over a high core count. RAM depends on the game: 2-4 GB for 10 Minecraft players, 8-16 GB for 50 Rust players.
